The existing methods for donor blood plasma heat treatment inspection are imperfect as they do not allow obtaining reproducible studies results. The effect of the blood plasma heating rate on the functional activity level of proteins it contains is determined in these results. In this work the accuracy improvement methods of measurement of the blood plasma heating duration by calculating the heating duration of a thermophysical equivalent solution in a simulation vessel were considered. To determine the effect of the assumption of no convective heat transfer on the calculation of the time duration required to reach the solution target average volume temperature, two heating simulation methods of the aqueous sodium chloride solution, accounting for convection and for no convection, were compared. The authors presented results of the two simulation methods and in-situ measurements of the solution temperature during blood plasma heating in eight variants of transfusion preparation conditions with different heating rates. A numerical simulation method accounting for convection of the solution in the vessel has allowed obtaining results similar to in-situ measurements compared to a method accounting for no convection; the variable conditions of solution heating were at a rate ranging from 0.19 to 1.44 °C per second. The study results are applicable for the development of a more sophisticated method for the heat treatment inspection of blood plasma in the devices for its preparation for transfusion.
