Instructions for authors
(The rules of drawing up manuscripts have been in force since September 7, 2026)
IMPORTANT NOTE! The manuscripts are accepted by the editorial team only with available supporting documents (copyright transfer agreement, expert evaluation report, departmental or institutional recommendations, and cover letter).
The scientific and technical journal “Proceedings of Universities. Electronics” publishes the original and review (invited) articles in English and Russian. The Journal focuses on state-of-the-art topics of electronics. The term “electronics” embraces micro-, nano-, opto- and acoustoelectronics, photonics, vacuum and microwave electronics. The Journal highlights technological, physical and circuit engineering aspects of these electronics fields.
We welcome submissions on all topics listed above, with specific emphasis on the following areas:
– fundamental researches;
– electronics materials;
– technological processes;
– integrated electronics elements;
– circuit design and engineering;
– micro- and nanosystem technology;
– electronic engineering;
– integrated radioelectronic devices;
– biomedical electronics;
– information-communication technologies;
– university education problems;
– brief reports.
The following should be submitted:
1. Hard copy of the article in two copies, including abstracts, figures, tables, references, the list of authors and the information about them, prepared on a computer and printed out on a laser printer on white paper of A4 format with clear and legible font.
2. The electronic version (soft copy) of the paper in Word format for Windows.
3. The expert evaluation report, departmental or institutional recommendations, cover letter on corporate letterhead (for authors not affiliated with MIET).
4. The copyright transfer agreement should be submitted in 2 copies. You can find the soft copy of fill-out copyright transfer agreement form by the link http://ivuz-e.ru/authors/.
The hard copy of manuscript should be signed by all authors.
The recommended volume of publications is the following: for an article – not exceeding 12 pages of text and 5 figures, for a brief report – not exceeding 4 pages of text and 2 figures.
The article should contain introduction, main part and conclusion.
The title page of the article should be presented as follows: journal section in which the authors intend to publish their article (in Russian and English); Universal Decimal Classification index (UDC); the article title; the initials and the names of the authors; the name of the institution, where the work has been conducted; e-mail; abstract in Russian and English, the keywords. Next follows the text of the article.
The article pages should have through numeration.
Abstract should be structured and include the problem substantiation (introduction); the research methods; study results; conclusion. The recommended abstract size: 150– 200 words.
– text should be printed with double line spacing and the font size at least as large as the standard typewriter size (font size 13, Times New Roman);
– paragraphs should be separated with one hard return, first line indent (0.75 cm) should be set in Word menu Format/Paragraph; typing should start from left margin with no right alignment, hyphenation nor full justification used; margins – 2 cm each.
– for equations typesetting in MS Word the MathType 6.0 tool is used;
– default settings of the equation editor Styles/Sizes are used;
– numbered equations that are referred in the text only are displayed in a separate line and are centered.
Figures:
– the line drawings and halftone figures (photos) may be presented in the following formats: JPEG/JPG, PNG, SVG, TIFF (without compression). Figures representation in other formats is only possible after consultation with editorial team and to the extent technically feasible. Text and graphic elements on figures (on soft as well as on hard copy) should be readable and have sufficient quality;
– text in the figures is typed in 10 font size; subscripts and superscripts – 8 font size;
– each figure should be supplied in a separate file. The figures should be mentioned and numbered.
The tables should be necessarily mentioned in the text and should have headings (in Russian and English).
References:
– references are drawn up according to the same rules for the original list and References, based on elements of the Vancouver and Harvard standards: the names of the authors are always written before the title; if possible, all authors are indicated (but no more than 6-7); the signs / and // are excluded; the year of issue, volume numbers, issue, article and page range are not separated by spaces;
– reference list should contain no less than 10 entries (in review (invited) articles – no more than 50 entries); the references should be given in square brackets in the text e.g. [1];
– the numbering of sources should correspond to the order of references in the text;
The references to the non-published papers are not allowed.
The list of authors and the information about them:
– it is necessary to indicate: surname, name, full patronymic; scientific degree, academic status; place of work; official address (in Russian and English); telephone number, e-mail;
– please indicate the author in charge, for post-graduates – PhD Advisor.
There are no submission fees, publication fees or page charges.
