The laser differential equation in the mode of modulation by microwave signals (or under condition of the self-heterodyne detection of the amplitude-modulated optical oscillation) has been discussed. It has been shown that the above mentioned processes significantly enhance the laser nonlinear effects, which may result in the system unstable work, followed by the main mode failure, or transfer to the determinated chaos.

The possibility of conducting the sensitivity analysis of the autodyne detection system for the microwave amplitude-modulated optical signals has been considered. The results have been compared with the optical heterodyne reception sensitivity obtained based on the quantum-mechanical approach to the problem.
