Some problems of the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) spatial and the radiometric resolution estimation have been considered. The Impulse Response method for SAR spatial resolution estimation in terms of a single point reflector image width has been presented. An algorithm for the SAR radiometric resolution estimation based on the Differential Radiocontrast Method (DRCM) has been proposed.

The estimation of the radiometric resolution estimation in SAR images by the module after smoothing filtration (linear and nonlinear) using the Differential Radiocontrast Method (DRCM) has been performed. The curves of the radiometric resolution changes depending on the filter window size for simple mean and median filters have been obtained.
