Controlled generators are an important component of wide-range measuring equipment. A 10-cm range (2.1-3.7 GHz) wave generator is a part of the X1-55 circuit analyzer. However, there is no data on detecting parasitic parameters of the output signal - tuning nonlinearity, frequency run-out, frequency dependence on the supply voltage, harmonic levels - in technical description of the X1-55 measuring instrument. In this work, experimental characteristics of a 10-cm range wave generator are considered, including modulation characteristic, frequency dependence on the supply voltage, frequency run-out, and output signal spectrum in the near and far zones. The functional diagram of driving part of the generator and the design description are given. The following results were obtained: operating frequency range is 2.1-3.7 GHz; power output is (15.8 ± 0.44) dBm; control voltage is from 2 to 36 V; average gain slope of modulation characteristic is 0.45 MHz/V; positive supply voltage (+12 V); negative supply voltage (-6 V); second harmonic suppression is 31.7 dB; third harmonic suppression is 33.7 dB. The current consumption in the +12 V circuit was 110 mA. Comparison of predetermined and obtained basic values of generator parameters has demonstrated the compliance with basic requirements specified for these devices.
