Training of scientific personnel is the priority task of higher education in terms of Russian science development. The use of electronic components to increase the effectiveness of independent students’ work is aimed at deepening and consolidating their theoretical knowledge, practical skills, development of analytical skills and creative abilities. The problems of forming a scientific outlook among students and the possibility of involving graduate student in the active creative activity have been considered. The significance of independent students’ work to acquire the researcher’s skills. The importance of an independent work of students is especially emphasized, when they are placed in conditions of a researcher searching for patterns and determining important aspects in theoretical or/and practical respect. The use of electronic components to increase the effectiveness of independent work of students, aimed at forming the competence «The ability to update and deepen professional skills and creativity, communicativity, the ability to dialogue» on the subject matter of the educational discipline «Materials for electronics», taught in English, has been described. The videos, offered for the independent work of students, give an idea of similar developments level, the use of modern information technologies and help to publicly introduce the developed and manufactured electronic device design. The use of electronic components has been described by the examples of one developed task version. The importance of monitoring the task progress by a teacher has been noted, the criteria for estimating the final results have been determined. The options for carrying out the measure for its evaluation have been suggested. The recommendations for teachers on the tasks development and the use of electronic components for independent work of students have been formulated.
